Shane Williamson, the Year 12 Dean at
Onehunga High School, has no reservations in recommending Urshula
Ansell to the First Foundation: 'Urshula has impressed me with her
outgoing personality and her willingness to help others. She makes
the most of every opportunity. Urshula has a strong work ethic and
is not afraid to ask for clarification when needed. These values
will ensure that Urshula is well placed to achieve to her full
potential.'
In 2009, Urshula achieved NCEA Level 1
endorsed with Merit and she was awarded Academic Excellence in
Drama. Urshula is an all-rounder. She has her Industry Level 1
Dance qualification and has successfully completed the Te Kaipakihi
Ranga Wairua Programme and won the Leadership Award. She serves her
school through I number of extracurricular involvements such as the
Stage Challenge, School Choir, The Cook Island Group for PolyFest,
a mentor for the Peer Support Program, on the Students Against
Drink Driving (SADD) Committee and in the Waka Ama group. Urshula
is a keen footballer and plays in the 1st XI Girls' Team as well as
for the Onehunga Mangere United Soccer club. Urshula's long term
goal is to study a Bachelor of Education as a specialist teacher in
drama or a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting or Media
Studies. She is also interested in Performing Arts.
"Bubbling over with enthusiasm, Urshula is totally charming - this
one will certainly go far in life! Shes passionate about events and
organising functions etc and obviously is well aware of the
importance of leaving a lasting impression and creating unique
experiences. Urshula is certainly a 'people person' through and
through and I think she would get a lot out of our team in terms of
understanding how creating great experiences contributes to an
engaged workforce." (Rebecca Wigram, Manager - Internal Brand
Experience)
