This young Samoan woman has a warm, positive personality which
resonates with those around her. She is a vibrant and natural
leader and one who believes in being disciplined and committed to
achieving goals. Confidence exudes from her: "I believe I posses
the necessary skills to succeed and reach my goals."
Philomena attributes her academic successes to attributes such as
determination and motivation. "Her outlook on life is very much
about self-motivation and that nothing is free, which I am sure
contributes to her determination to aim high at all times," said
her Yr 12 Dean at McAuley. Philomena's hard work was recognised in
2011 with the McAuley Diligence Award. Philomena's involvement at
school spans from the environmental group to basketball and outside
of school she plays a very active part in her Church
community.
Philomena has her eyes set on graduating with a Bachelor of Health
Sciences majoring in midwifery and then studying for a Masters of
Health Practice, also in Midwifery. She will study at AUT starting
in 2013.
