A high achiever at school, Neomai received the School Diligence
Award in 2000 and the Principles Award in 1999.
Neomai was an outstanding student at The University of Auckland. In
2008 she graduated from a Bachelor of Science with a focus in
Bio-Medicine. She went on to study Engineering linking this to the
positive experience she had with Fletcher Construction. "They
gifted me with an honest look at the workforce and the realities of
engineering."
As a ripple effect, Neomai has found herself contributing to the
South Pacific Indigenous Engineering Services (SPIES) at The
University of Auckland; a support network of Māori and Pacific
Engineering students. Additionally, Neomai volunteers for the
Methodist Mission and for Red Cross. She is currently doing a
Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching with The University of Auckland's
Department of Education and will graduate in 2012.
