This impressive student stood out for academic excellence across
all three levels of NCEA with strengths in Accounting and Science.
He was awarded Merit Awards every year for his achievements. As
well as having a great academic record, Neelkanth was a talented
sportsman excelling in playing and captaining school Cricket and
Table Tennis. Outside of school, Neelkanth showed commitment to his
local temple and helped out his parents in running their
convenience store.
For Daryl Brigden, of The Warehouse, Neelkanth's Scholarship
application had the "X" factor. "The pride, commitment and passion
for life shone through it and conveyed something special about the
writer. His commitment to education was unshakeable - he realised
that it was the key to his future" said Daryl.
With the career goal of becoming an accountant, Neelkanth completed
a degree in Commerce and Administration at Victoria University.
Graduating in 2010, he has gone on to do an Honours year in
Accounting in 2011. Additionally, Neelkanth tutors at Victoria
University and is involved in the Food of Life charitable
organisation. The Warehouse continues to support Neelkanth in his
education with ongoing employment.
