This cheerful, positive, self-disciplined and enduring young
woman is an incredibly talented sportswoman; a strong participant
and leader in many sports. Becky has particular skill in Soccer and
has represented her school since 2008 in the First XI team, which
she was Vice-Captain of in 2011. Becky has been in regional winning
teams for Futsal and Cricket, going on to compete nationally.
Outside of school, Becky plays Soccer for Northface and helps to
coach younger Soccer players. "She is motivated to achieve to a
high level and rarely achieves anything less. Her effort towards
her academic programme is to be commended and she has excellent
leadership and interpersonal skills and develops strong
relationships," stated her teacher, at the time, for High
Performance Sport.
Becky's first connection with Sport Northland was helping to put
out the Soccer nets every morning for midget teams. Becky further
impressed Sport Northland in her interview for a First Foundation
Scholarship and they are delighted to have selected her as their
inaugural recipient.
Moving to Auckland to Westlake Girls High School for her final year
of secondary school to pursue wider sporting and academic
opportunities, Becky is also looking ahead to tertiary education.
With a number of options open to her, a first year in Health
Science is currently top of the list.
