The principal of De La Salle College says Anthony "has been a
model student, who presents himself well in all areas of the
College and is reliable and has been a good ambassador for the
School." Anthony has achieved 129 credits in NCEA Level 1 many at
Merit and Excellence.
Anthony's excellent communication skills have led to him being a
leader for his school's Debating Team, an achievement he is
extremely proud of and feels it is a privilege to represent his
school in this way, as well as giving him valuable experience. Much
of Anthony's time outside of studying is taken up assisting others;
he is part of the school Peer Support team. In his community, he is
an active member of his church Youth Group and takes time to visit
local Retirement Homes, performing activities with the elderly.
Anthony feels the scholarship is important to him to allow him
to excel further in his education and career path. He would like to
study at the University of Auckland for a degree in Accountancy,
Law and possibly Journalism.
Natasha Cherrie, Human Resources Manager at Fonterra Brands (Tip
Top) Ltd says "Anthony presented as a well rounded and focused
individual with a strong desire to succeed. He impressed with his
thoughtful questions and demonstrated he has a great mind for
business. Anthony's inquisitiveness about the inner workings of Tip
Top and Fonterra will hold him in good stead during his scholarship
and indeed his intended future as an Accountant. His maturity and
open personality leaves you with the sense that there isn't much
that will phase him, which is a great fit for the fast paced, ever
changing FMCG environment that is Tip Top. Tip Top is thrilled to
be partnered with Anthony and we look forward to providing him with
many magical moments as he strides towards his education and career
goals."
